LEYBOURNE Parish Council is seeking to appoint a Parish Clerk. The position is office based at Leybourne Village Hall Office and the hours are negotiable and will be reviewed with prospective candidates. Salary according to experience and qualifications based on national NJC pay scales. The work undertaken in the Parish Office is varied and quite often challenging. As part of a small team you will be working closely with Parish Councillors and the Caretaker. You will have a close working relationship with the elected members and a number of partner organisations including TMBC, KCC, Kent Police, various public bodies and other neighbouring Parish Councils. You will be expected to give a professional service to the residents of the Parish of Leybourne.

Your official position as Parish Clerk will be as the Proper Officer, Responsible Finance Officer, Village Hall Manager & Licensee and Line Manager to the Caretaker. The successful candidate for this position will need to have Partnership and People Management skills, a good knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and auditing, IT knowledge of both systems and software, experience of setting budgets and working to budgets, excellent admin skills, experience of minute taking and working with Committees, interpersonal skills and a current driving licence and use of a car for Council business.
